About the Author
Colleen A. Sheehan is Professor of Politics and director of the Ryan Center for the Study of Free Institutions and the Public Good at Villanova University, Pennsylvania, where she teaches courses in American political thought and politics and in literature. She has served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and is currently a member of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education. She is author of James Madison and the Spirit of Republican Self-Government (Cambridge, 2009); coeditor of Friends of the Constitution: Writings of the Other Federalists, 1787-1788 (1998); and author of numerous articles on the American founding and eighteenth-century political and moral thought, which have appeared in journals such as the William and Mary Quarterly, the American Political Science Review, the Review of Politics, and Persuasions: The Jane Austen Journal.

As a former student of Dr. Sheehan, I had the privilege of witnessing first-hand her remarkable and extensive knowledge regarding political history and theory, particularly the philosophy and accomplishments of James Madison. The Mind of James Madison is an incredible piece of work. The extensive research, level of detail and insights in this book are simply remarkable. About the Author
Larry Jeffus is a welder with over 55 years of welding experience, and he has his own well-equipped welding shop. In his welding career he has passed many welding certification tests in a wide variety of processes, positions, and on many different material types and thicknesses. Larry has provided welding and professional consulting services locally, nationally, and internationally to major corporations, small businesses, government agencies, schools, colleges, and individuals. He is a Life Member of the American Welding Society. Larry Jeffus has over forty years experience as a dedicated classroom teacher and is the author of several Delmar Cengage Learning welding publications. Prior to retiring from teaching, Professor Jeffus taught at Eastfield College, part of the Dallas County Community College District. Since retiring from full-time teaching, he remains very active in the welding community, especially in the field of education. He serves on several welding program technical advisory committees and has visited high school, college, and technical campuses in more than forty states and four foreign countries. Professor Jeffus was selected as Outstanding Post-Secondary Technical Educator in the State of Texas by the Texas Technical Society. Professor Jeffus has served for 12 years as a board member on the Texas Workforce Investment Council in the Texas Governor's office where he works to develop a skilled workforce and bring economic development to the state. He served as a member of the Apprenticeship Project Leadership Team where he helped establish apprenticeship training programs for Texas, and he has made numerous trips to Washington lobbying for vocational and technical education. Larry Jeffus holds a Bachelor of Science Degree and has completed post graduate studies.

Bryan got interested in welding while taking metal shop classes in high school. This sparked a desire to learn as much about welding as possible. Upon completion of high school he enrolled in college and completed an Associate of Applied Science degree in welding technology. He has worked in various industries including aerospace, manufacturing, communications, food, and construction. He has worked in both large and small private businesses and has had his own welding business. While working in industry, he started teaching as an adjunct instructor at Eastfield College and Mountain View College. His experiences in teaching encouraged him to continue his education and complete both a Bachelor and Master degree from the University of North Texas. Bryan has been involved in developing and growing welding programs at Northeast Texas Community College and is currently the Department Chair of Welding/Industrial Trades at Tyler Junior College. Bryan has also served on the board of the East Texas Section of the American Welding Society for many years.

Thorough And Extremely Useful

This is an excellent resource for those that want to become more adept at creating their own Magickal blends.The author has done extensive research. She offers a serious work with traditional Occult techniques from creating and charging the working area, to adjusting the recipes for both safety and creating various forms of the different formulas. This is not the typical so-called 'Witchcraft' book replete with saccharine self-help pop psychology(which I am not criticizing, if it is useful to some in their individual paths), it is a book for those that are desirous to learn very old and traditional ways of working in the Magickal Arts. Ms. Di Gregorio offers the full spectrum, including darker aspects of Work, expecting that her reader is mature and responsible enough to handle the information.Very well done!

Vast Wealth of Knowledge

This was such an informative book! It was exactly what I had been looking for, but did not realize I had found it by purchasing this book. I may not have the discipline to create all of these potions and oils. I have yet to do so. But all of the information on herbs and their properties, as well as information on moon phases, planetary days, and planetary hours, was so helpful and exactly what I had wanted to find in other books, but was unable to do so. Thank you, Sophia diGregorio! You are so helpful and knowledgeable! I will attempt to make some of these potions at some point, but the information presented in the first half of the book made the book worth buying, even if I do not make the potions.. Also, what I like about the author is that she does not judge you or condemn you if you want to put a spell on someone. She leaves the ethics up to you. I really get tired of authors trying to put on a moral sense of self-righteousness by telling you what is right and wrong. Because I absolutely believe that either everything is fated, or we all have free will. If we all have free will, then nobody can make you do anything that you do not want to do. If everything is fated, then it is not our spells that force people to like us, but the will of fate itself. So, either way, fate or free will, you cannot force someone to do something that is not meant to happen. I also believe that we make soul contracts with people, before we are born. So, really, nothing can be forced by a spell that is not supposed to happen. I really appreciate that this author is not self-righteous or condemning. Bizarre more than creepy

I am a huge fan of this author. HUGE FAN! This book . . . Hmm . . . it was one of the strangest books I've ever read. I can't say that I have an opinion good or bad about this book. It was just average, but definitely different. The author was going for creepy, but I found it more to be bizarre. Overall, a different read, but okay.

YA historical mystery with paranormal element!

I love Kelley Armstrong. So I knew that I had to read this book. It is part of the Secrets series (a bunch of authors each write a book where there is a secret involved).

The Unquiet Past is a YA historical mystery with paranormal elements (ghosts/visions/psychic elements).

The book is set in 1964, mostly in Montreal and rural Quebec. The narrator is almost 17 year old Tess. She is in orphan trying to uncover the truth about her parentage.

When the book begins Tess is in Hope Ontario. She lives in the Benevolent Home of Necessitous Girls. It burns down.

This book is definitely a mystery. But I am not sure if I would consider it a thriller. There is a mystery to figure out. but only in the last part of the book do things really happen at a faster pace.

Before the halfway point I would also say that there is not much paranormal. But that does have a huge impact on the last half of the book.

There is a fair amount of French in this book (since a bunch of characters speak that language). But everything is translated. And it is mostly just a line or two followed by the translation.

I don't normally like historical books. But truthfully this did not really feel that historical. It was only set in the 60s. So things weren't that different.

The book deals with visions, which I found very interesting. I liked how this helped move the story along.

This book was unusual. it was interesting, but very different from anything the author has previously written. But I enjoyed it.

Rather Disappointing

I'm a serious Kelley Armstrong fan, but this seemed rather a cheat. Tess leaves the orphanage where she was raised in search of answers based on an out-of-service phone number and an address, which turns out to be an abandoned house, apparently a psychiatric hospital or the equivalent. She finds a boy at the address who's able to explain anything psych related, and decides to help her unravel her (not much of a) mystery.

Predictable, hardly any suspense, rather disappointing......

Excellent book on order sets for interns who are without strong guidance.

I am an intern and finding evidence based order recommendations can be difficult if you have never admitted a case of say, meningitis before. This book guides you step by step into the exact and most widely accepted admission order sets for a wide variety of bread and butter disorders that you will get called to admit. Current Clinical Strategies is good, but it doesn't talk about dispo at all and doesn't really go over the thought process. This book is a definite ace in the hole and will reference you to articles that are seminal and foundational to the way we treat patients who we admit. I am surprised that I am the first one to review it.

Like Groundhog Day.....

I bought this entire series at once. And regret it. I read the first book and loved it, but then.....if you've read one, you've read them all. The women are all tiny - like 5ft.- and skinny. No tall curvy ladies in any of the books. The men are almost indistinguishable from book to book. Huge guys who like to wear jeans unbuttoned. The sex scenes are the same. Even some of the dialogue. The phrases "So responsive." "Move." "Wet washcloth" "bobbing" "pop" "I'm humbled" were all in most, if not all books. All the men call the women "baby." No variation.
Even a few of the plots were repetitive, such as two stories of women running from arranged polygamous marriages. (FFM) The first 5 books are about one family, then it is just recycled in the remaining books in the series. Large family, all living together in a huge house, one daughter with a bunch of sons. Every book ends with an epilogue that includes a new house and/or a baby. So predictable it's painful.

Best friends

Trace believes in masters family tradition that he will share a mate with another person. He hopes that other person will be his best friend Keegan who has shared women with him in the past.
Melinda a female shaman like her grandmother does not want to meet her mate let another two mates like her brother miles did. With her family history and her abilities it is hard to deal with.
Once they all meet and jobs come into play it is a wonder if the mates will be able to handle themselves. Two dominant males and one dominant female could be lots of trouble or equal fun.
When bad things start happening and threatening emails start at the job site that Keegan is inspecting he has to face that himself or his mates are in danger.
This story is so heart warming, frustrating, and emotional that you will not know whether to laugh, cry, scream, or cheer. Becca has wrote and amazing story with a great story line. I can not wait for the next book.

Great Shifter love story

I enjoy the shifter story line and the Masters' Family of Wolf Shifters as well as the humans who become involved with them.

Good read, with an author who touches on bigotry involving the Native American Nation as well as toward anyone who is different. She has a good feel for this topic and brings it through her novels very well. This adds a lot of substance to the story line.

I enjoyed the characters, even the "nasties", without them, there would not be a story line. Waiting patiently for the next in the series.

great color slides, but not a good introductory book

I thought this book had some good information in it and the color slides in the beginning part of the book were highly useful, but overall the layout of the book was very poor. This book might be useful for someone that works in a medical lab but for a beginner student it was not very useful in my opinion. I did not like how cheap-looking the book is and how it didn't have any pictures(other than the ones at the beginning, and it would have made more sense to include them in the chapters so you don't have to flip back to the front every time). All the diagrams in the individual chapters are hand-drawn and are not really that useful (you could use Google to find images more useful). I think the authors of the books are probably very knowledgeable on the subject of Medical parasitology but they probably don't have much business writing a textbook (a very cheaply made one at that).

I am all for saving money on textbooks and maybe that is the approach they were using , but at the same time I'd rather pay a hundred dollars for a book that is really well written and laid out rather than one a quarter of the price that feels like an amateurish attempt at writing a text for medical student...I know there has to be better books out there on this subject. Overall I give this book about 2.5 out of 5 stars, but here on Amazon I will give it a 3 since you cannot give half stars.

The cheap price is about all I liked about this book. The paperback format is useful in that it is easier to carry around, but I really didn't like how it was edited. Chapters in the book seemed very crammed together and the flow of the material was very poor. Everything just kind of ran together and it was hard to separate one parasite from the next. Book needs some major editing done in future revisions and then maybe they will have a text more deserving of 4 stars or higher.

Well made and would make an awesome addition for professors or students wanting a little more insight on parasitic infections. Plus if you are a visual learner this is definitely the book for you!

Great Fun for the Whole Family

I bought this book on a whim. My mother was a math teacher and my childhood was filled with playing with math puzzles and games. When I saw this book, I decided to purchase it for my 8 and 9 year old kids. We all had a ball sitting around the coffee table and trying to make all the shapes! It has turned into a quick "rainy-day" sure-fire kid-pleasing activity. After a couple of weeks, I took it to my office and sat it on a side table at work. It was amazing to see grown men fascinated with trying to fit the pentomino pieces into different shapes. Buy it for the kids, but realize the adults will get just as much fun out of it! My only negative comment is that I could not figure out how to get the Pentominos out of the clear container. After a few frustrating minutes of not trying to tear the box, I figured it out.

Pentominoes puzzles need to be the size of the pieces

I bought this for my daughter in the hopes that she would be able to work on pentominoes and get better and better at it. There are 2 major problems with this book. 1) The puzzles are just small pictures, so she has to try and do it without working inside a puzzle, which makes it way more difficult. 2) The puzzles are all extremely advanced, there are no simple puzzles, they all use 11 or 12 pieces. I was hoping that it would gradulatelly get harder and harder. Too bad.

This was a great book to use to get my students interested in pentominoes. They had a lot of fun trying to create the figures. My only wish is that the pictures of the figures would have been a little bigger.
